Medical lead shielding doors integrate mechanical structures, radiation shielding substrates and safety interlock systems. They are custom shielding components specially designed for radiology rooms. As the openable movable shielding gateway of the room, their internal structural design directly determines the radiation shielding effect and is a critical spot where radiation leakage weakness may occur in the whole radiation protection system.
A shielding door mainly consists of a steel door frame, door leaf, built-in Medical Lead Sheet, lead glass observation window, sealing strips and opening & closing mechanism. The lead sheet inside the door leaf acts as the core shielding part. Relying on the high atomic number and high density of lead, it absorbs and attenuates X-rays and scattered radiation. Sealing strips around the door frame fill gaps when the door is closed, blocking the most accessible path for radiation leakage. The observation window adopts radiation-proof lead glass with matched lead equivalence to the door leaf, ensuring uniform protection grade of the whole door and preventing partial shielding defects.
Our lead shielding doors adopt the one-piece full-sheet lead lining process. The internal Radiation Protection Lead Sheet is firmly fixed, resisting displacement and falling off after long-term repeated opening and closing for stable shielding performance. Electric models can be fitted with safety interlock systems: the radiation equipment cannot start until the door is fully closed, which avoids radiation risks caused by misoperation.
