Recently, Shandong Qite Radiation Protection Engineering Co., Ltd., leveraging its professional construction technology and extensive project experience, successfully completed the overall radiation protection project for the Radiology Department of Guizhou Qiannan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. This project encompassed the overall protection design and construction of the radiology room, focusing on the customized installation of radiation-proof lead doors, barium sulfate sand spraying protection on the walls, and the construction of a radiation-proof lead plate shielding layer on the ceiling. We provided the hospital with a one-stop solution from scheme design and material supply to professional construction, ensuring the safety and compliance of the radiology department's working environment with relevant national protection standards.
Regarding wall protection, we adopted a professional construction process using a mixture of barium sulfate sand and cement, applying multiple layers of uniform spraying to all walls of the room. Barium sulfate mortar, due to its high density and excellent protective performance, effectively shields ionizing radiation such as X-rays. The ceiling was fully covered with custom-made radiation-shielding lead plates, and professional overlapping techniques ensured the continuity of shielding. Meanwhile, the custom-made radiation-shielding lead doors for each access point not only possess excellent shielding performance, but their robust structure and sensitive opening and closing system also ensured the convenience and safety of medical staff's daily access. Each radiation-shielding lead door underwent rigorous testing to ensure that its leakage dose was far below the safety limit.
