Lead door X-ray protection door is a special safety door designed for shielding ionizing radiation. It is widely used in hospital radiology departments, CT rooms, DR rooms, interventional operating rooms, nuclear medicine departments, industrial flaw detection rooms, laboratories and nuclear facilities. Its core function is to effectively absorb and attenuate X-rays, gamma rays and other radiation through high-density lead materials to ensure the safety of personnel and the environment.

1. Core structure and materials

Lead protective layer:

High-purity lead plates (purity ≥ 99.99%) are embedded inside the door body, and the lead equivalent covers 0.5-10mmpb (millimeter lead equivalent), which can be customized according to the radiation intensity. The lead plate adopts a seamless splicing process to ensure that there is no radiation leakage gap.


Multi-layer composite structure:

The outer layer is high-quality cold-rolled steel plate or stainless steel with anti-corrosion treatment on the surface; the middle layer is lead plate; the inner layer is filled with fireproof and soundproof materials (such as rock wool), which has both fireproof and noise reduction functions. The thickness of the door body is usually 50-200mm, taking into account both protection and durability.

2. Protection performance

Radiation shielding rate:

Complies with GBZ/T 201-2011 "Radiation Shielding Specifications for Radiotherapy Rooms" and international standards, and the shielding efficiency of 80-150kV medical X-rays is more than 99.9%.


Edge protection:

The door frame adopts a stepped or overlapping structure, and a lead sealing strip is installed at the door gap to prevent lateral radiation leakage.

3. Functional design

Opening and closing system:


Electric type: equipped with motor drive, supports card swiping/induction/remote control switch, with anti-pinch sensor and power-off manual release device.


Manual type: adopts heavy-duty bearing hinges, easy to open and close, and durable > 100,000 times.


Observation window:

Built-in lead glass (lead equivalent matches the door body), light transmittance ≥ 70%, no deformation of the field of view, easy to monitor the indoor situation.


Safety accessories:

Optional interlocking device (the device cannot be started when the door is not closed), warning light, ionizing radiation sign, etc.


4. Technical parameters

Applicable door opening size: single/double door, width 900-2000mm, height 2000-2500mm (support non-standard customization).


Surface treatment: high-voltage electrostatic spraying, scratch resistance, detergent resistance, color can be customized (commonly yellow or gray).


Fire protection level: some models meet Class A fire protection standards (fire resistance time ≥ 1.5 hours).


5. Installation and maintenance

The steel door frame needs to be embedded to ensure seamless connection with the wall protection layer.


Check the sealing strips and hinges regularly to avoid mechanical wear affecting the protection performance.
